Industry News: Wind and New-Energy Equipment Drive Large-Gear Demand
Expansion of wind, solar, and energy-storage equipment is driving demand for large-module, high-precision gears and gearbox components.
Under carbon-neutrality goals, wind and solar industries continue expanding, increasing demand for yaw and pitch drives, gearbox spare parts, large ring gears, and planet gears.
These parts often feature large modules (10–40), diameters above 3 m, grade-6 or higher accuracy, and special materials such as 18CrNiMo7-6, requiring advanced machining, heat treatment, and inspection.
Manufacturers with large gear grinders, carburizing furnaces, and gear measurement centers are more competitive. Offshore wind applications also impose stricter corrosion and reliability requirements.
Qinxu will continue serving new-energy customers with hardened-gear machining and custom housing manufacturing capabilities.
